2. Visit shops in Electronic Town: Yodobashi, Sofmap, LAOX, Yamada Denki, etc.
Of course, you know another name for Akihabara, don't you? Akihabara is often referred to as the "Electronic Town," and you can find many stores that sell various electrical products. Some of the largest electronics stores include Yodobashi, Sofmap, LAOX, and Yamada Denki. Those large stores offer anything you can think of. Among them, Yodobashi is the most recommended store to explore.
Yodobashi Akiba consists of nine floors. From the 1st floor to the 6th floor is the Yodobashi store, where you can find computer gadgets, mobile techs, and accessories, cameras, computers, printers, home appliances, videogames, toys, etc. It's quite impressive to see a whole floor dedicated to toys and videogames, which makes a perfect destination for a geek. The thing that makes Yodobashi attractive is the upper floors. On the 7th floor, there are specialty shops selling clothes, shoes, glasses, etc. The 8th floor is dedicated to restaurants and cafes. If you get tired walking around the building, you can always visit the 8th floor to have light/heavy meals or snacks. And finally, on the 9th floor, there is a golf shop and a batting center. It is the biggest place for collectibles which consists of eight floors selling everything about anime, TV superheroes, characters and mascots, and manga comics, new and used. 5. Shop at Donki/ Don Quijote Akihabara
Don Quijote is a chain of stores that selling almost everything, sometimes at a discounted price, and Akihabara is a branch store of it. What makes Don Quijote stands out because it sells from groceries (sweets, drinks, snacks, etc.) to cosmetics, piercings (and other accessories) to electronics to costumes, even the weirdest ones. Donki is so much fun just exploring from the top floor to the bottom floor!
It is said that Don Quijote Akihabara is special because it houses the AKB48 Theater, with live performances 6 days a week!

6. Visit Gundam Cafe and enjoy Gundam themed food!
Gundam Cafe located right next to the AKB48 Cafes and Shop (which is mentioned below), although they have no relevance to each other. Gundam is a Japanese animation series about a giant robot suits piloted by humans. Speaking about the Cafes, it’s such a fun and unforgettable experience to enjoy Gundam themed food, from cakes to lattes, the staff also dress in Gundam modified uniforms. 8. Play Gachapon at Akihabara Gachapon Kaikan
Gachapon is a special kind of Japanese vending machine, but instead of dropping drinks or foods, this machine drops small (but super cute) prizes, especially each Gachapon machine drops different prizes and specializes mostly about manga, anime, games, movies and small toys such as miniature animals or foods.

Animate is one of the biggest chain stores regarding anime and manga products. Its Akihabara branch consists of 8 floors full of anime/manga goods and merchandise. 12. Spend a quiet time at Kanda Myojin Shrine
Kanda Myojin Shrine located near Akihabara, enshrines three Gods: Daikokuten – the God of fruity harvest, Ebisu – the God of fishermen and businessmen’ sucessful, and Taira Masakado – a feudal lord who was deified since the 10th century. Kanda Myojin Shrine is a very special place for IT professionals from all over Japan, because they even held blessing ceremonies for new IT ventures in order to get them to a good start and avoid bad luck.
In case you can’t enter the blessing ceremony, you can buy a charm instead for 1,000yen, which is very special because it is said to shield your digital devices from computer disasters such as viruses and leak of personal information.

16. Indulge in the otaku-style drinking night at Little TGV
If you are visiting Akihabara, why don't you have an Akihabara-style dinner? Little TGV is the place to go, if you want to experience an eatery/bar for nerds, especially those who are obsessed with trains. 19. Try tsukemen (dipping noodles) like a local at Yasubei
Akihabara is a heaven for ramen shops as ramens are one of the most popular foods among otaku in Japan. (I'm not sure about the correct reason, maybe because it's cheap and fast so that they don't have to spend time and money on food and can spend more on collectibles?) Among many ramen shops in Akihabara, I'd like to recommend trying a newer style of ramen: dipping noodles, tsukemen. Yasubei in Akihabara is one of the most famous tsukemen chains in Japan and get a long queue every day. Its thick and chewy noodles match with the soup very well. Ask for "soup-wari" after finishing all the noodles. Staff will give you hot water to drink up the soup. Yasubei definitely a flavor for locals, which you can't easily experience outside of Japan.
